The Integrated pharmaceutical Technology cycle for R&D (IPTC) Alliance addressing the problem of importing most pharmaceutical industry inputs including; the active ingredients and fillers from abroad (more than 95%) with huge amount of foreign currency exceed 2 billion pounds annually.
The financial crises with low exchange rate of the Egyptian pound, leads to a permanent and continuous threat for this industry that affected in terms of economic and the consequences of health effects on Egyptian citizens.
Most of these materials can be manufactured and prepared by technological methods that available locally. At the same time most of these methods are unprotected by any type of protections; Patents; etc., and found in the public domain.
The IPTC pharmaceutical alliance also address the absence of a product developing center with capacity and ability to provide a market study and technology package for the production of the pharmaceutical materials in addition to providing a support to the entrepreneur, researcher, and SMEs.
Presence of industrial enterprise in the alliance will help us to moving from the Labe and pilot scale to the full production scale. Nevertheless, researchers and academia will work with industry hand to hand to solve their technical issues in order to improve the quality of their products and enhance their production process.
